From The Heart Of My Bottom
© 2014 Mark Allen

Iím really not a repulsive person to know
Why do others treat me like some kind of circus show
Iíve never had the teeth of a tiger
But Iím chewing life with a little more fiber

My buddy Bill legislated his political run
Can you campaign against waste?  Consider it done
My donation for a richer environment
Set into motion his early retirement

CHORUS
I know - this may sound cold, but do I care
All you gave to me was an empty promise and a lot of hot air
In return for your table scraps and the occasional crumb
Take all the love from the heart of my bottom

Lisa was a lovely melodic work of art
Strumming my sentimental strings like a female Mozart
I tried to score under her hypnosis
But she wouldn’t let me play in her opus

CHORUS
I know - this may sound cold, but do I care
All you gave to me was an empty promise and a lot of hot air
In return for your table scraps and the occasional crumb
Take all the love from the heart of my bottom

BRIDGE
The bottom of my world has fallen to the bottom of my glass
Every time I turn the corner the best deals have been recast
Life’s one bona fide cornucopia
Where is my justice, where’s my utopia?

Livin’ by the lie that loyalty’s the way to the top
Sweatin’ my brow while the boss was at the beauty shop
My request for a raise wasn’t pretty
So send my mail to Cardboard City

CHORUS
I know - this may be sound, but do I care
All you gave to me was an empty promise and a lot of hot air
Keep your table scraps and the occasional crumb
And take all the love from the heart of my bottom
